The Alliance Empowerment Coalition Power Point Presentation

 

Expo - 2006  The Alliance Empowerment Coalition Expo - 2006  provided 36 groups and organizations

of New York State, on August 21 and 22, 2006 at The Hudson Valley Resort, in Kerhonkshon, NY.

 

The Empowerment Center Support Center, Dimensions, seven days a week is opened five days a week

from 8:00 am to 8:00pm.  The weekend hours are 12:00noon to 5:00PM Saturday and Sunday.

 
 
 
 
 
 
 

January 1, 2005 The Empowerment Center was awarded a substantial grant from The New York State

Office of Mental Health.  The Empowerment Center in conjunction with the Mental Patients Liberation

Alliance has formed the Alliance Empowerment Coalition.  The initiative is to infuse the recovery

of mental health through groups and organizations operated and governed by people who

are or have received mental health services.

On Friday, July 15, 2005, OMH released their position statement on Electric Convulsive Therapy (ECT).

The position paper provides a much stronger stance against forced ECT (click for position paper) in New

The Empowerment Center welcomes you to read about our organization and contact us if you are

interested in additional information or would like to be involved in our cause of advocating and

protecting the rights of people discovering their mental health.

 

Please review the statistics of our Peer Support Center Dimensions.  A few special points we

would like to bring to your attention: over 6,000 meals served, 25+support contacts per day, close to 70

different people attend each month.  This past year, 2006, Dimensions has hosted a number of special

guest and presenters including the Mayor of New Rochelle, Councilmen of New Rochelle, New York

State Senators and Assembly men.  Cornell Cooperative presented a six week course on
